Lil Wayne’s Cannabis Brand Launches in Michigan
The Freep reports that Lil Wayne’s GKUA cannabis brand is launching in Michigan on October 10th because the company feels its values match the community:
“GKUA is Weezy’s Weed. It’s what I love, and now I’m sharing what I love with the people of Michigan,” said Lil Wayne in the news release. “These days everyone could use some help to feel inspired.”
In addition to the launch, rapper and reality TV star Lil Twist, who is on the Young Money Entertainment music label, will travel to dispensaries in metro Detroit to meet fans and host a giveaway. The tour will take place Oct. 10 at House of Dank on 8 Mile in Detroit, Herbology Cannabis Co. in River Rouge and at The Clinic in Center Line.
“We’re really excited,” said the owner of Herbology Cannabis Co. and Herbal Healing Provisioning, who goes by the name TJ. “It’s nice that the industry is at this point that we can have nice celebrity endorsements and products. It’s nice for the overall hype and people are definitely going to love it.”
During the Lil Twist event, Herbology Cannabis Co. will host T-shirt giveaways, cannabis sales and a small meet-and-greet with signed posters. TJ said that the event would be a lot larger if there wasn’t a pandemic.
