Mary Janes: The Women of Weed
There will be a special screening of Mary Janes: The Women of Weed presented by Dori Edwards on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 7:30 in Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theater. They write that women are changing the face of today’s fastest growing industry, cannabis, and you can join filmmaker Windy Borman as she discovers how they’re also changing the world. The film features a powerful interview from Grammy®-award-winning singer/songwriter Melissa Etheridge.
“Mary Janes” has garnered “Best Documentary” and “Visionary” awards on the festival circuit and been featured in Variety, The Associated Press, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Forbes, NBC, and ABC. The people of North America have spoken. Ten states have legalized “recreational” cannabis in the United States, and legal sales in Canada began on October 17, 2018. Clearly, we’re at a tipping point and “The Women of Weed” could make marijuana legal nationwide, reform the criminal justice system, empower disenfranchised communities, and give life-saving medicine to children and veterans, all whilebuilding gender equality into a billion-dollar industry. We call this the Puffragette® Movement.
