Spring and the Vernal Equinox arrive tonight!

At 11:06pm tonight (March 19, 2024) Spring officially begins with the vernal equinox. As Deborah from the wonderful science website EarthSky explains in the video above, the March equinox brings spring and summer to the Northern Hemisphere when the sun moves northward above the Earth’s equator.

Fun Fact: wherever you are, the sun rose today EXACTLY in the East, and it will set tonight EXACTLY in the West!
