Michigan is Disc Golf Paradise!
Michigan stands atop the nation with some of the most opulent, undulating, and challenging disc golf courses in the world. With over 50% of disc golf enthusiasts identifying as cannabis consumers, we hope this piece “elevates” your score!
In case you’re unfamiliar with the sport, the Disc Golf Association (DGA) explains that disc golf (also called Frisbee golf) is similar to traditional golf, but instead of using golf clubs and balls aiming for a hole, disc golf players use disc golf discs and aim for a disc golf basket which is a pole extending up from the ground with chains and a basket where the disc lands. The object of the game (like regular golf) is to complete each hole in the fewest number of throws, starting from a tee area and finishing with the disc coming to rest in the basket. Head over to their introduction to disc golf page for lots more on how to play!
The good folks at Pure Michigan have diplomatically selected 15 Fantastic Disc Golf Courses in Michigan from across the state and say that although serious disc golfers may carry a bag of 10-15 discs with different flight characteristics, the sport is fun & accessible for beginners as well.
