The 420 Cannabis Festival powered by JARS takes place Friday, August 13th & Saturday, August 14th at Adado Riverfront Park in Lansing. The festival will feature two days of music, cannabis and food in celebration of the legalization of recreational marijuana in Michigan & our cannabis culture.
Germaine Redding is the co-founder of the 420 Cannabis Festival & shares “I’ve been in entertainment for producing concerts for over 20 years. Because I’m also looking to become a licenced cannabis industry operator, I thought why not just put them both together?”
Why not indeed. Redding is one of a handful of people in Michigan with a marijuana event producer license. He says he hopes to become the Live Nation of cannabis events and has hit the ground running, “When you look at the cannabis world & cannabis lifestyle, cannabis & entertainment just go together. We’ve got Saving Abel headlining Friday with Sada Baby & Doobie on Saturday. I really wanted to make it a diverse lineup and over the weekend we have country, rock, pop, salsa, music, hip hop, R&B – I think we’ve hit on every genre!”
Raymond Abro is the chief operating officer and one of the founders of JARS Cannabis, a Michigan-based company with 8 dispensaries across the state. Abro explains how the 420 Festival lines up with their goals, “What we’re trying to do is to really be part of the community & host & create something so people can enjoy life with us. The marijuana business is fun, and you want be able to enjoy that fun outside of the walls of your business.”
“This is the first opportunity for us to sell product outside of our provisioning centers,” he continues. “We’re working with all our brand partners and will have over 20 brands there with their own tents and brand ambassadors to educate people about the product. It’s amazing to have the ability to try and then buy.”
In addition to having spaces to consume cannabis, the festival also feature a great range of food trucks & food vendors along with a full lineup of music. Pop & rock featured on Friday and rap & hip-hop artists featured on Saturday. You can purchase tickets for either day or both on their website.
