53rd Annual Hash Bash ~ Saturday April 6th in Ann Arbor
The 53rd annual Hash Bash on Saturday, April 6th is an annual celebration of cannabis AND protest against reactionary forces & laws that threaten the legal enjoyment of marijuana. From the very first Hash Bash on Saturday, April 1, 1972 right up until today, the event takes place every year on the University of Michigan Diag in Ann Arbor on the first Saturday of April at HIGH noon.
The event features live music & speakers who share the goal of reforming federal, state, and local marijuana laws.
Things kick off with Ann Arbor’s own Laith Al-Saadi performing the national anthem on guitar. Sadly, Michigan cannabis legend John Sinclair was slated to appear with him but passed away on April 2nd. This year’s Hash Bash speakers lineup includes several longtime cannabis activists, including Leni Sinclair, Chuck Ream and Tim Beck, as well as representatives from various groups and entities ranging from the Michigan Psychedelic Society to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office. Local politicians such as Sen. Jeff Irwin, U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell and state Rep. Jimmie Wilson Jr. also are on the lineup.
Hash Bash is always free, and you can get more information plus tickets to the Hash Bash Cup at hash-bash.com!
